Mrs. Leezena Nelson Obituary With sadness and compassion, Craig R. Tremble Funeral Homes, Inc., Pembroke Chapel, along with the Family, announce the passing of Mrs. Leezena Nelson.
Mrs. Leezena Carmichael Nelson, was born in Dillon County, SC. to Ms. Florine Carmichael Page. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Lloyd Page and Mrs. Ruth Hayes Page.
Leezena was educated in the schools of Dillon County. She graduated from Latimer High School, class of 1959. She then moved to New Jersey were she studied at Essex County College in Newark NJ. This is where she became a licensed dental technician.
She made her home in NJ for over 35 years. During this time she met and married James H Nelson in 1968. They had one son, Steven Wyatt Kennedy Nelson. In 1997, after her mother in law, Mrs. Mary Lee Harper fell ill, they moved back to Claxton, GA, to take over and run the family business, Harper's Funeral Home. After her husband's passing in May, 2020, she then moved in with her son and his family in Richmond Hill, GA.
Leezena passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, December 9, 2024, just 2 weeks prior to her 84th birthday.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Simone) Nelson, Richmond Hill, GA; granddaughters, Nikita and Kennedy. She also has family in Darlington SC and host of other relatives and friends.
