Leif Aadland, 73, longtime resident in the Akron, Colorado area passed away on November 25, 2025.

Leif was born October 1, 1952, to Egil and Judith Aadland in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Egil and Judith migrated to the United States in 1952 from Norway. Leif had endless memories of growing up on the family farm in Minnesota and his early childhood trapping and fishing days.

Leif was a member of the Buckhorn Skinners of Masonville, CO, one of the founding members of the Buffalo Runners out of Masonville, CO, an avid outdoorsman and a member of the NRA.

Leif attended Iowa Central Community College in Eagle Grove, IA to study auto mechanics before he was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, CO in 1972 to serve in the Army. In 1975 Leif and his then wife, Diana Aadland moved to Loveland, CO. Leif worked as a diesel mechanic, auto mechanic and an auto body mechanic in both Eagle Grove, IA and Loveland CO, as well as a manufacturing technician at Hewlett Packard in Loveland. In 1996 he moved to Pinehurst, ID where he lived until his adventure brought him to Akron, CO in 2008 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed tying flies, hunting, including buffalo hunting runs, and a black powder enthusiast. Leif enjoyed discussing politics as well starting up a conversation with anyone that would listen. He loved to sit with those he cared about discussing issues and sharing his knowledge. He was a wise man who could be stubborn but always appreciated the debate.

Leif is survived by his sisters; Maureen Stohlmeyer, Iris Renee Young (Michael Young, children Rachel and Ross), and Jonita Aadland (Duane Wright) his children, Chris Aadland of Akron, Colorado, and Heidi Larson (Thad Larson) of Loveland, Colorado; and by his grandchildren: Christopher and Ava Larson.

Full military graveside services will be held on December 2, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Akron Cemetery in Akron, Colorado.
