Leigh Abel Nunley

Leigh Abel Nunley, age 58, of Meadowview, VA passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC after suffering from a stroke.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Nunley of Meadowview, VA; a son Derek Anderson of Abingdon, VA; a brother, Ben Abel and wife Rita of Abingdon, VA; a mother-in-law, Beulah Nunley of Abingdon, VA; a step-daughter, Katie Crane and husband Mark of Clarksville, TN, four step- grandchildren, Kodie Riner of Richmond, VA, Jeremy Riner and wife Laken of Claypool Hill, VA, Tyler Crane and wife Savanna of Clarksville, TN, Rebecca Crane of Clarksville, TN; two step-great-grandchildren, Beckam Riner of Claypool Hill, VA, Parker Crane of Clarksville, TN; a brother-in-law, Ellis Nunley and wife Patsy of Abingdon, VA; four sister-in-law's, Bonnie Wise and husband Gene of Abingdon, VA, Lois Miller and husband Wafford of Meadowview, VA, Loretta Damron and husband Junior of Abingdon, VA, Brenda Nunley of Abingdon, VA; several special cousins; several nieces and nephews; very special friend who was like a sister, Diana Howell and husband Dale of Meadowview, VA; two special grandchildren, Lilyanna Tignor and Nevaeh Harless of Meadowview, VA; four dogs, Rio, Mecedes, Nikia, Romo; a special horse, Miss Kitty;
She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Imogene Jones Abel; a sister, Carolyn Abel
Leigh was a very caring person who valued taking care of people. Her compassion for helping others was carried on even after her passing from this life as she was an organ donor.
She enjoyed time with family, shopping at yardsales, attending sporting events for the grandchildren, taking care of her animals and most anything that involved simple country living. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
It was Leigh's wish to be cremated. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
In Leigh's memory it is requested that you make a donation to your favorite humane society or a local food bank as Leigh had a love for animals and a desire that none should go hungry.
