In addition to his love of learning, Leigh enjoyed being behind a camera, spending time with his family, getting lost in a book or bookstore, listening to music, dancing, reading the Bible, and sharing interesting facts with anyone who would listen. He also loved the Lord and enjoyed his church family at the Lutheran Church of our Redeemer where he was a faithful member for 50 years.
Leigh is survived by his daughter Stephanie Nurre (Matt), granddaughter Zoe Loeppert, brother Roger Stewart (Joyce), sisters Jeanne LePorte and Linda Bruder Barlow (Stuart) and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 28 years, Birgit, and brother James Stewart Sr.
