Leisa Marie Cutler, a vibrant soul known for her warmth and kindhearted spirit, was born on December 12, 1964, in Greenbush, Virginia. Leisa grew up in the loving embrace of her parents, Pauline and Gilbert Cutler, Sr. She departed this world suddenly on August 20, 2025, at the age of 60, in Newport News, Virginia.
Leisa's journey through life took her through the halls of Accomack County Schools and led her to the achievement of an Associate's Degree from the Eastern Shore Community College. Her professional journey was characterized by her longstanding tenure as a clerk at Food Lion for 37 years, where she was cherished by customers and coworkers alike for her unfailing smile and willingness to lend an ear. She also demonstrated her talents and leadership qualities as an Assistant Manager at Cato Fashions, inspiring those around her with her dedication and style.
Faith played a significant role in Leisa's life. As a member of Metropolitan United Methodist Church, she found strength and community. Fueled by her faith, she also embraced her loves of dance, cycling, shopping, and cooking. Leisa's passion for dance in particular was infectious, and she was often the life of the party, keeping the dance floor "hot" with her lively presence.
She now joins her predeceased family, Winona Summerville, Theodore Summerville Sr., Linwood (Delrio) Davis, Mildred Cutler-Johnson, Lenard Johnson, Theodore (surviving spouse, Shirley) Summerville Jr., Betty Belle Summerville, Everette Summerville, Sr., and Reginald Summerville.
Leisa's absence will be deeply felt by her cherished daughter and only child, Kyesha Savage, who was the light of her life. She is also mourned by her parents, Pauline and Gilbert Cutler, Sr.; siblings, Brigitte (Robert) Cutler-Fosque, Keith Northan, Mildred (Derrick) Blake, Lucetia Cutler, Leonard Johnson, Gilbert Cutler, Jr., and Tamar Cutler; aunts and uncles, Eugene (Yvette) Summerville, Carolyn (Kelvin) Pettit, Sheila Summerville, Marion Summerville, Wade Summerville, Sandra Davis, and Allie Ames. She will also be truly missed by her dear, longtime friend, Graylen Pettit. Leisa held a special place in her heart for her numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends, all of whom she embraced with her boundless love.
Leisa Marie Cutler lived her life with grace, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her cherished ones. We celebrate the beauty and light she brought into the world. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, her ready laughter, and the pure love she held for every life she touched. Though her time with us was far too short, the impressions she made are timeless. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Leisa Marie Cutler, please visit our Tree Store.
