Lela Rosella Rietmann

Lela R. Rietmann, age 93, of Rochester, MN formerly of Zumbro Falls, MN passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester, MN.

Lela Rosella Rietmann was born April 24, 1930 on the family farm in rural Zumbro Falls, Wabasha County, MN. She was the youngest daughter of Wallace and Mary (Parkinson) Whipple. She attended Red Bridge Country School and graduated from Mazeppa High School in 1947.

Lela married Daren Roger Rietmann on February 6, 1956 in Bear Valley. They lived on the farm Daren grew up on until October 1958, when they purchased their own farm in Zumbro Township. They moved to Rochester in October of 2007.

Lela was a member of Zumbro Community Church. She enjoyed time spent in her vegetable and flower gardens along with canning. She also tended to her chickens, ducks, turkeys, and rabbits. She loved her family and enjoyed the time she was able to babysit.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Bonnie) Rietmann of Rochester, MN; her daughter, Connie (Thomas) Reinhart of Rochester, MN; four grandchildren, Jason (Roxana) Rietmann, Adam Rietmann, Calli Reinhart and Nathan (Jess) Reinhart; five great grandchildren; her brother, Allen (Jenny) Whipple.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daren Rietmann; one sister, five brothers; 2 half-sisters and 2 half-brothers.

A Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN along with an hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Zumbro Community Church, 58354 Wabasha County Road 7, Zumbro Falls, MN. Interment will be at Pleasant Prairie Dale Cemetery, rural Zumbro Falls.
