Lemont Span Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Symonds-Madison Funeral Home on Oct. 9, 2024.
Lemont Deshawn Span, age 33, of Glendale Heights, IL, passed away on October 5, 2024. He was born November 23, 1990 in Elgin, IL to his loving parents, Lamont Cook and Betty Ann Span.
Lemont had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed sports; his favorite basketball team was the Milwaukee Bucks, favorite football team was the New England Patriots, and his favorite player was Tom Brady.
He loved cooking, playing cards, and spending quality time with his family, especially playing video games with his brother. And he had a passion for boxing. He was a boxing trainer, and loved to watch boxing matches, both on television and in person. His favorite saying was, "Too EAT!!" and "Gotta Eat to Live!"
A funny memory amongst the family is when Lemont was a baby. They would put his pacifier in his mouth backwards, and he would turn it around just with his tongue. It made everyone laugh!
Lemont was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Ann Span; maternal grandparents, Earlie and Ollie Mae Span; paternal grandparents, Charlie and Rosetta Cook; uncles, Alan Span, Cary Cook, and Duane Cook; aunties, Barbara Span and Rita Cook; and cousin, Travis Span.
He is survived by his father, Lamont Cook; brother, Jemiren (Kieanna) Span; aunts, Diane Lewis, Darlene Blalark, Stephanie Brooks, Hazel Span, Vetta Ward, Mamie Cook, and Charsetta Cook; uncles, William (Denise) Iron, Jimmy Gibson, Earl Span, Rick Cook, Jimmy Cook, and Randy (Cindy) Cook; cousins, Quin Span, Devin Span, Sabrine Robinson, Ronnie Robinson, Shefaron Span, Shatandra Span, Ashley Span, Latecia Span, Ebony Tomlin, Delitha Cook, Ty Cook, Connie Cook, Lyric Cook, Jamal Cook, Logan Cook, Alvin Cook, Chrissy Cook, Cresha Cook, and a host of other cousins.
Visitation will be 12:00pm until funeral service at 1:30pm, Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.
Interment will be private.
