Lena Belle Kelly Brewer, a cherished member of her family and community, peacefully departed this life on November 5, 2025. Born on January 26, 1937, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Lena lived a life rich in love, creativity, and devotion to others.
A proud graduate of Incarnate Word Academy in Corpus Christi, Lena found her calling as a cosmetologist, bringing beauty to the lives of many throughout her career. Her artistry extended beyond her profession, as she was known for her exceptional skills as a seamstress and her delightful talents in crocheting, cooking, and baking. Lena's home was always filled with the aromas of her culinary creations, as she took great joy in sharing her recipes and stories with family and friends, leaving them with memories that would last a lifetime.
Deeply rooted in her faith, Lena was a devout member of the Catholic Church, finding strength and solace in her spirituality. Her warm and welcoming personality earned her admiration among those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was actively involved in the community, serving as a member of the Red Hat Ladies, where her vibrant spirit and joyful laughter brought light to every gathering.
Lena’s greatest pride was in the love she held for her family. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Sarah Sonnier, and her husband, Rick, of Hemphill. Lena also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Melissa Harris, Christopher Harris, William Harris, and Ann Harris, as well as her precious great-grandchildren, Rylee Harris, Colton Harris, and Jace Harris. Each of these relationships brought her immense joy, and she relished every moment spent as a Grammy.
Lena was preceded in death by her husbands, Huey Delafosse and Richard Brewer, as well as her parents, Earl and Easter Lily Kelly, and her son, John David Brandesky. Their memories lived on within her heart, and she carried their love with her throughout her life.
As we remember Lena Belle Kelly Brewer, we celebrate the legacy of love, kindness, and warmth she imparted to all. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she touched, and her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of her cherished family and friends.
