Lena (Day) Engle, daughter of the late Henry and Edith (Lewis) Day, was born July 31st, 1940 in Leslie County, Kentucky. She was united in marriage to Harold Engle who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Sherri Anderson and husband Robert of London, Kentucky; by her siblings, Elmer Day and wife Bonnie of East Bernstadt, Kentucky and Roger Wells and wife Carolyn of Hazard, Kentucky. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Steven Anderson, Lyndsey Likins and husband Cole, and Dustin Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Cole Anderson and Karter Likens; and one honorary grandson, Kelvin Perry. She is also survived by her best friend, Mary Rose Reams. The family would like to add a thanks to a special nurse, Brittany. Besides her spouse and parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Elmer Anderson; by her in-laws, Lillie and Vycie Engle; and by her special friend and sister-in-law, Bessie Baker. Lena (Day) Engle departed this life on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 being 84 years, 6 months, and 23 days of age.Funeral services for Lena (Day) Engle will be conducted Thursday, February 27th, 2025 at 12:00 NOON in London Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Day officiating. Burial will follow at Day Cemetery. The family of Lena (Day) Engle will receive friends at London Funeral Home after 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025.
Serving as pallbearers will be: John Becknell, Kelvin Perry, Cole Likins, and Rodney Day.
