Lena Sumner Obituary
Born in Mullins, SC, she was a daughter of the late Mark McCoy Lewis and Lena Pauline Johnson Lewis.
Mrs. Sumner was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church. She retired from the Sumter Social Security Office. She was a member of Sumter Unit 15 American Legion Auxiliary, the Beta Sigma Phi-Nu Master Chapter and the Red Hat Society.
Surviving are two sons, Howard C. Sumner, Jr. (Danita) and Richard D. Sumner; a daughter, Cheryl S. Huggins (Marcus); two brothers, Larry Lewis and Tom Lewis; three sisters, Alice Ammons, Sara Buffkin, Willadean Moore (John); seven grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, August 19, 2024, in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Settle officiating.
Burial will be at 1 P.M. Monday in the Florence National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 11 AM Monday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
