Lenard was born July 31, 1938 to Grover and Lola (Bell) Iverson in
Warrens, Wisconsin, the second youngest of twelve children. As a child, he attended Star Valley School near their home. He left Tomah High School early to take on a job to help support the family, and later earned his GED as an adult.
On November 3, 1956 Len married the love of his life, Yvonne (Bonnie) Frost in
Warrens, Wisconsin. Early years were focused on raising their six children together, Rich, Jane, Sue, Jeff, Sandy, and Bobby. In his spare time, Len took on numerous side jobs to earn extra money. When he wasn't working, Len was busy enjoying one of many hobbies including racing stock cars, playing softball, shooting trap, hunting, flying his ultralight plane, and using his woodworking skills to create many unique, custom clocks for family and friends. Len also belonged to Ducks Unlimited and later became one of the founding members of the Jackson County Wildlife Fund, created to benefit the local area.
On July 21, 2001, Len married Eleanora Propp. They lived in Arizona during the winter months for much of their married life, making their final move back to Wisconsin in 2021. They passed their time buying items during the week and selling them at the local Flea Market on the weekends. They made many new friends in Arizona.
