WORCESTER - Lenora ("Lenore") A. (Melnick) Rosenblum, age 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester, surrounded by the loving presence of her family. Born and raised in Hartford, Lenore was the daughter of Nathan and Rose (Shulman) Melnick. She was a resident of Bloomfield, Connecticut for many years, and lived most recently at Hoffman SummerWood Assisted Living in West Hartford. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis, in 1978 and a brother, William.
She and her beloved husband, Lewis I. Rosenblum, raised three sons. Lenore worked for many years as an administrative secretary at the Hebrew Center for Health & Rehabilitation in West Hartford, dedicating her skills to support her community. Upon retirement, she served as a volunteer ombudsman. She enjoyed music and theatre, was a member of The Emanuel Synagogue of West Hartford, and a member of and volunteer for Jewish Women International of West Hartford. She was a social person who loved a party and having a good time. Her family was her pride and joy.
Although Lenore experienced the great losses of both her father and husband too soon from her life, she was a survivor who chose to embrace a positive outlook and to view each day as a gift. Her faith was a source of comfort and strength throughout her life.
Lenore will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her three devoted sons, Neal Rosenblum and his wife, Paula of Worcester, Steven Rosenblum and his wife, Margaret of Florida, Charles "Chuck" Rosenblum and his partner, Diana Robles of Worcester; along with her cherished grandchildren, Mark Rosenblum and his wife, Abigail Wharff of New York City, Lauren Rosenblum Niles and her husband, Matthew of New York City, Ariel Rosenblum and her partner Richard Caruso of North Bennington, VT, Hilary Rosenblum Jefferson and her husband Zachary of Philadelphia, PA, Lewis Rosenblum of Collingswood, NJ, Lena Rosenblum of Denver, CO, Beryl Rosenblum and Liza Rosenblum, both of Worcester. Her great-grandchildren are Naomi and Isaac Jefferson and Rae Niles. She also leaves behind a niece Sheri Scalley and nephews Lewis, Lee, and Alan Eisenberg, as well as goddaughter Gail Frankel, and close family members Rebecca Frankel and Sheila and Meyer Frankel, who gave Lenora love and support for many years.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service at noon on Sunday, November 17, at Brahilover Benevolent Cemetery, 300 Cleveland Avenue Extension, Hartford, CT. A Memorial Observance will take place that evening beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the residence of Chuck Rosenblum in Worcester. Arrangements are in the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
The family would like to offer sincere appreciation to the entire staff of the Jewish Healthcare Center for their kindness and attentive care of Lenore, and to the Hospice Care Team in particular, who oversaw her final days - we will be forever grateful for your professionalism and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center of Worcester.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
