Lenore Hadaway Obituary Lenore Vaccaro Hadaway passed away peacefully June 28th 2022 in Michigan City, In Her body was tired and she went to be with husband Paul who recently passed. She had such an incredibly dynamic soul who touched so many peoples lives in the most interesting way. Her charm, elegance and wit were what drew people in. She was one of the best story tellers and she had a treasure trove of material to share.
Lenore opened and ran several successful businesses throughout her life; many trucking companies, real estate, The Blue Jay Manor B&B & her 4 restaurants. Her businesses were a critical piece of her day-to-day and she was always thinking of her next business adventure.
She was also an amazing cook. She had so many dishes she would make but my favorite was her meatballs and red sauce. Anyone who has had her spaghetti and meatballs would agree. You never left her home hungry.
She was a compassionate soul who loved to help others. She was known to employee the unemployable and gave everyone a chance. While Lenore was tough as nails on the exterior, she had a gentle side that her friends and family knew well.
She had a network of friends that loved her dearly. Many of her friends shes known since high school and her Andy Frain usherette days. Once she we moved from Chicago to Michigan City her network of friends grew. She had her bowling friends, her Bunko friends, her trucking friends and friends that she met through other friends. People loved being around our Lenore.
Her grandchildren loved their "Nanni" so much. Charlotte (7), Harry, (7) Hudson (5) and Duke (4) loved visiting her and Nanni made them feel special and loved. They loved her meatballs, brownies, cookies and crafting with her at her apartment. She recently sewed Charlottes dress for her daddy-daughter dance and was excited to do more. Going to Nanni and Papas was always filled with adventure, and theyll miss those visits dearly.
She was a great Mom who wanted to see her 3 children happy, healthy, in loving relationships and financially independent. Her zest for life and business was something she constantly tried to instill in her children; Anthony Hadaway Her daughter-in-law and son-in-laws loved her and she loved them right back. They too had unique, special relationships with Mom.
Mom was classy and made sure we were dressed well, ate well and traveled the world. Her favorite place to visit was New Orleans which has always help a special place in our hearts and souls. She took us all over, we went to Europe, Caribbean, Canada many different states, she had such a sense of adventure.
Lenore was one for 6 children and will be dearly missed by her brothers and sisters as well their husbands, wives and nieces and nephews. Everyone in our family had their own special relationship with our Mom and we know how much she loved her entire family. She was preceded in death by her parents, our Papa and Nana, and it brings me comfort knowing she is reunited with them in addition to our father, Paul.
Our family is incredibly thankful for the nurses, doctors and Hospice that helped take care of her. You all are angels right here on Earth, THANK YOU.
