Lenore "Muffy" Nebelsiek Lee, (Neu) passed away of complications of pneumonia in the early morning hours of June 6, 2025 at Rush Copley hospital in Aurora IL.
Lenore was born on February 3rd 1950 in Chicago to Hilbert John "Tiny" and Roberta Annette Hamacher Nebelsiek (Greski). Lenore was the 2nd oldest of 6 children.
Lenore is preceded in death by both of her parents.
Lenore is survived by her husband, Sang Lee; her 2 loving sons, Jake (Jennifer) and David Neu; her sisters, Karen (Andrew) Slager, Alice Piorkowski, Meira "Dinky" (Steve) Hertzberg, and Roberta "Punkie" (Tim) Carlton, her brother, Hilbert John (Linda) Nebelsiek Jr. as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a very special grand nephew Camden and grand niece Camryn Outlaw, who she absolutely adored.
Education was very important to Lenore. She graduated from Highland High School in Highland, Indiana with the class of 1968. She went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Purdue University in 1972, and later a Bachelor's degree from Aurora University in elementary education, and another Master's degree in teacher leadership, also from Aurora University.
Lenore taught preschool at St. Paul's Lutheran School, as well as Emmanuel in Aurora for a number of years. Lenore then spent over 30 years teaching 3rd through 5th grades at O'Donnell Elementary School in Aurora.
Lenore then moved on to retire and spent 10 years in Rio Rancho, New Mexico before moving back to the Aurora area for health reasons. In her retirement she became an avid quilter, she enjoyed reading novels geared towards pre-teens and she loved watching Jeopardy.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:30 pm on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S Broadway,
