(nee Swigart), of Eagle River, Wisconsin, formerly New Lenox, Illinois, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 3rd, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Lenore was born to Leonard and Mary Swigart on September 1st, 1949 in Chicago Illinois. She married the love of her life, Mike Thompson on November 7, 1970. Those who have gone before her include her father, Leonard Swigart, her loving husband Mike Thompson, and her first grandchild, Michael Corrado. Lenore is survived by her children, daughter Lisa Stuart, and son Thomas Thompson. Grandchildren, Zoe (Annie) Stuart, Anthony Corrado, Vincent Corrado, Hope DeBoard, Gracie DeBoard, Abigail Thompson, and David Stuart. She is also survived by countless friends, too many to name individually.
Lenore was a career driven woman her entire life. She closed out her corporate career as a Regional Vice President at which time she started her own business as a successful Snap-on Tool dealer. She and Mike both owned their own franchise’s and they enjoyed competing against each other for top sales each month. Many months they were number one and two in the region. After moving up to Eagle River, Lenore continued to manage the financial and communication end of Mike’s Cornwell tool business.
Lenore also took great passion in being a mother to her children, Lisa and Tommy. After 18 years of marriage she and Mike selflessly adopted Lisa and Tommy and gave them a wonderful life. Lenore enjoyed watching them grow and teaching them all the important aspects of life. In 2007 she and Mike moved up to Eagle River where they enjoyed a slower paced lifestyle. Lisa and her children spent many holidays with them in Eagle River.
Lenore will be remembered as the most amazing mother, wonderful grandmother, loving wife, and all around kind hearted person. She will be greatly missed and the world is a bit emptier without her presence. Knowing she is reunited with her loving husband and no longer suffering should give peace to all those who mourn her passing.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington from 11:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 2:00 p.m. A memorial luncheon will follow the services at the Silver Dollar Restaurant in Elwood.
Family and friends are encouraged to sign the online guest book, upload photographs, and share Lenore's memorial page via social media.
