Leo A. Bennett, Jr., a lifelong Concord resident, died at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center on July 22, 2023, following a brief illness. He was 75.
Born in Concord on October 4, 1947, he was the son of the late Leo A. Bennett, Sr. and Agnes J. (McBreen) Bennett.
He was a graduate of Concord-Carlisle High School, class of 1966. After school, he served as a Private in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid vintage car enthusiast who loved riding his Harley Davidson.
Leo will be missed by his sister, Diane Bennett of Shirley, two brothers, Richard Bennett of Maynard and Thomas Bennett of Littleton, and a nephew, Robert Diaz of Shirley. He also leaves his two faithful canine companions, Max and Bella, who he adored unconditionally. He was the brother of the late Timothy and Robert Bennett.
Family and friends will gather for visiting hours on Tuesday, August 1st from 6:30 to 9 pm at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 2nd at 10 am in St. Bernard's Church at Holy Family Parish, 12 Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial will follow with U.S. Army military honors at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Concord.
Concord's Town Flag will fly at half-staff on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in recognition of Leo's honorable service to our country.
