LEO "BOB" HARRIS, 86, of Ogallala, passed away December 18, 2023, at Lincoln, Nebraska.
Bob was born June 7, 1937, at Greeley, Nebraska to Leo and Elizabeth (Trella) Harris. He graduated from Ericson High School with the class of 1954, before entering the US Air Force.
Following Bob's discharge in 1958, he attended the Radio Engineering Institute in Omaha until 1963. He worked at Collins Radio in Davenport, Iowa from 1965-1966. On June 23, 1965, Bob married Mary McCain at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burwell. Their union was blessed with two children, Troy and Lesa. The couple made their home in Ogallala, where Bob worked at TRW/ASC from 1966-1997. He was the General Manager of TRW Electronica in Guadalajara, Mexico from 1979-1982 and the Vice President of operations in Ogallala from 1990-1997.
Bob enjoyed playing golf and coffee with his friends. He was easygoing and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Bob was a faithful member of St. Luke's Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Elizabeth Harris.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Ogallala; children, Troy (Cristal) Harris of Lincoln; Lesa (Will) Morris of Ceresco; grandchildren, Hailey and Lindsey Morris and Miriam Harris; along with many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Bob's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the Mass will be streamed live.
Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Luke's Catholic Church with Father Bryan Ernest as Celebrant. Inurnment with military honors will be in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell.
Rosary will be at St. Luke's Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at 6:00 pm.
