Leo King

Leo F. King, beloved husband and father left this earth when his valiant heart stopped beating on November 21, 2022 from worsening heart disease. He was 91 years old.
Leo was born in Pembroke, MA on November 11, 1931, the son of the late Leo King and Irene (Cornell) King of Duxbury, MA. His family moved to Kingston when Leo was a teenager and he graduated from Kingston High School in 1949. He joined the Army after graduation.
In 1952, Leo started learning woodworking and loved it. He worked as a journeyman carpenter and later as a master carpenter with his own business. His skilled craftsmanship involved finish carpentry and furniture making as well as remodeling and building homes.
He built the family home and loved working in the home's workshop crafting beautiful furniture and carving beautiful birds including owls and geese.
Leo was also an avid sports fan and could be found on weekend afternoons in his "man cave' easy chair enjoying the Patriots, Celtics, Bruins and his beloved Red Sox. He enjoyed watching and feeding the many birds in his backyard and made beautiful and very sturdy houses for them. He loved reading the Boston Globe every day and meeting his friends for early morning coffee.
Leo was "the salt of the earth" kind of guy. Quiet, steady, kind, dependable and a man of his word. He very much enjoyed the simple pleasures life has to offer, his love for his family and all Mother Nature. And of course, his devoted cat Buddy.
Besides his beloved wife Brenda (DeFelice) King he leaves his loving daughters Natalie Odell and her husband Bill, Jennifer Marinucci and her partner John Nota. He was Papa to his cherished granddaughter Melanie Odell. He was the brother of Carol King and the late Barbara Bennett, Richard King, Jean Vancini and Nancy Mills. He also leaves loving nieces and nephews. Leo will be forever loved and missed.
