Leo Kullman III, a simple man with a storied life, passed away on Thursday August 14, 2025 at his home. He was born in Fairmont, WV, on November 28, 1953, to Leo Kullman Jr. and Martha Louise Haines Kullman.

Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, he was a skilled carpenter and spent his life working on his craft. From small jobs to tiling to renovations and building houses from the ground up, carpentry was his passion. He could envision what the end product would look like before taking his first measurement. He spent his last weekend alive working alongside his brother, his favorite co-worker, forming concrete for a home. Leo would be so happy to know that he got to work until the end. That was his dream. His favorite saying, and John Prine song, was "Grandpa was a carpenter."

He was a devoted Steelers fan since his childhood, no matter how upsetting the season was. He would mutter under his breath (loudly) at the end of a season and always show up to cheer them on the next.

More than anything, the time he spent with his family was the most precious time he had. Playing a game of spades or rummy, listening to music (Can't beat Johnny!), or making the same old "dad joke" was what he loved most.

Leo leaves behind seven children who he loved dearly; Matthew Kullman and wife Nichole, New Ulm, Texas; Sarah Simmons and husband Jamie, Clarksburg, WV; Kelly Robinson, Martinsburg, WV; Leo Kullman IV and wife Treann, Royal Oak Michigan; Sidney Mai and husband Jimmy, Bridgeport, WV; Samantha Kullman and Abigail Kullman, both of Columbia, South Carolina.

Leo has seven treasured grandchildren: Izzy and Hank Simmons of Clarksburg; Adeline Kullman of New Ulm, TX; Zhara and Theadora Mai of Bridgeport; Ella Robinson of Martinsburg; and the newest addition, Juniper Kullman of Royal Oak, Michigan.

Leo also has seven siblings, and many nieces and nephews located all across the country.

Final arrangements are through Harmer Funeral home, Shinnston, WV. A celebration of life will be held on a future date.

He will be greatly missed.
