June Virginia Howe, 87, of Lumberport Wv passed away February 21, 2026. She was born in Lumberport, WV, on June 8, 1938, the daughter of the late Virgil (Archie) Schrader and Nola (Pearl)McCarty Schrader. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by first husband; Donald Dewaine Hurst, son; Timothy Hurst, second husband; Carroll Ray Howe, step son; Bob Howe and his wife Karen Howe, brother; William Schrader, sisters; Shirley Stire, Mary Ann Schrader and her husband Hugh Chris Williams, brother in laws; Clifford Fortney, Melvin Howe, James Hurst and Raymond Newbrough, sister in laws; Eva Howe, Pat Hurst, and Joann Akers and mother-in-law; Opel Hurst.

She is survived by her sons; Donald Hurst (Laura), Steven Lee Hurst I, step children; Steve Howe, Randy Howe (Janie), Meldoy Maxwell (Scott), Miranda Sending (Steve), Robert Howe (Pam), Jeremiah Howe (Nikki Main) and Christopher Howe, two sisters; Wilma Howe and Eileen Newbrough, grandchildren; Stephen Howe (Emily), Jennifer Hill (Daniel), Scott Maxwell (Desiree), Matthew Maxwell (Casey), Jonathan Maxwell (Shannon), Corey Hurst (Carrie), Courtney Hurst, Casey Hurst, Nicitta Glaspell (Cody), Brittany Mikah, and Steven Hurst II (Brittany) sister in law; Deloris Fortney, brother in law; Kenneth Hurst (Betty), as well as several great grandchildren. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to June's caregiver, Heather Owens Tennett.

June was a single mother, raising two sons, who were her pride and joy. She also worked as an Avon representative selling cosmetics for 25 years. She was a member of the Lumberport Baptist Church where she held office as Church Treasurer. In her spare time, she loved to travel; June had the opportunity to travel to France with her first husband Donald, a trip she cherished dearly. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, Christian word searches, listening to gospel music and her favorite pastor, Jimmy Swaggart. June especially loved spending time with her friends and family.

Friends and family will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeff Stire officiating. Interment will follow at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
