Leo Saenz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Riverside Funeral Home - Albuquerque on Mar. 12, 2026.
Leo Anthony Saenz, known as Anthony, passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 56. Born July 4, 1969, he was remembered for his big heart, lively personality, and unforgettable humor. Anthony cared deeply for everyone around him. He had a special love for his mother, Rose Saenz, and it was clear how much he loved his dogs. His three dogs meant the world to him and were part of his family. It's hard to sum up Anthony in just a few words. There are countless stories and memories filled with laughter. He had a natural way of making people laugh. At any party, he wasn't just a guest; he was the comedian, the entertainment, and the life of the party. Anthony and his sister, Luanne, shared a close and playful bond. Their relationship was full of teasing, humor, and love, much like Joe and Madea in Tyler Perry's films. They could joke back and forth in a way only siblings who care for each other can. Their relationship was special. He admired and loved his older brother, Tim, as a younger brother would. As the "Fun" uncle, he shared mischievous jokes, let kids sneak a beer, and could hit the strip club or basketball court. His sports knowledge and Rams loyalty made him a favorite. He remembered player stats and never wavered in his devotion to the Rams. In his younger days, he was a great baseball player and a home-run hitter in Little League. He loved to play street basketball with his best friend, Ray. He was a true sports fan. He lived like the 80s never ended. He watched The Goonies and The Outsiders once or twice a week and never grew tired of it. He was a loyal Rams fan for life, never switching sides. His loyalty carried into every part of his life. He worked at Sunwest Silver for over 20 years in the casting shop and stayed close with many childhood friends. Anthony loved his family and spent his final years with his sister, mother, and three dogs. Though sometimes a handful, his unwavering self-confidence and warmth were unmistakable. That was Anthony. He leaves behind chuckles that will echo in every family gathering, stories that will be passed down for generations, and a love that will never fade.
