Leo Williams, Jr.
Born: July 14, 1937 in Elkhorn, WI
Died: March 24, 2025 in Oregon, IL
Leo Williams Jr, 87, of Ashton passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025. He was born on July 14, 1937 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Leo was a graduate of East Troy, WI and went on to be an Iron Worker for many years before retiring. After retirement he spent many years helping to farm. He married Judy Clark June 23, 1979. He spent a lot of time with family and friends at their cottage in Wisconsin. He made it a place for all to enjoy and create so many memories. It was there he enjoyed kayaking, fishing, bird watching, jet skiing, go carting with grandkids, playing Phase 10, his favorite game cribbage and just being in nature. His interests included buying homes and renovating them, gardening, and tinkering with things. He and his wife liked to travel and enjoyed many vacations with friends and family. Leo served on the Ashton Fire Department and was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church. Leo will be remembered for his smiling face, teaching others things he loved, and always being a friend to those he met.
Leo is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Deb (Rick Hoffman), Dan Williams, Les (Angie) Williams, Sherri (Dave) Ludens, John (Kristi) Clark, Joe (Dena) Clark; his 14 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren; sister Babe Kerska; brothers Bill Williams and Bruce (Jo) Williams. He was preceded in death by his mother & father; 2 sons (Dennis & Jim), and one brother (Bob).
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Sunday March 30, 2025 from 4-7 pm at Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home, 601 Richardson Ave, Ashton IL 61006. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31, 10 AM, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 803 Paddock Ave, Ashton IL. With a visitation at the church one hour prior to service. Arrangements were entrusted to Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.beveragelyonsfamilyfh.com
A memorial has been established to the Ashton Fire Department.
