Leon B. Auger

Leon B. Auger, age 92 of Long Beach Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025, at his residence. He was born on Thursday, August 3, 1933 to Leon H. and Gertrude Auger in Bayonne, New Jersey. He lived much of his life in Nutley, New Jersey, where he made many strong lifelong friends.
Leon was a proud alumnus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, for which he remained dedicated to the community since his graduation.
For more than 30 years, Leon was passionately dedicated to education and lifelong learning, serving as a School Administrator for several school districts throughout the state of New Jersey.
Leon loved sports, from following the New York Giants and New York Mets, to golfing whenever he had free time. He also loved the arts and music, for which he collected numerous art pieces and learned various instruments over the years.
In addition to his parents and his one brother, Bob, Leon was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Blanche P. Auger, whom he was fiercely devoted to.
Leon leaves behind his two children, Leanne DiFranco (husband Kenneth DiFranco) and Jeffrey Auger (wife Trish Auger), as well as his six beloved grandchildren: Keith, Kyle, Kevin, Angel, Dylan and Michael. Leon also leaves behind his two siblings, Peggy Auger Beck and Paul Auger.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 6th at 4:00 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 5800 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach Township, New Jersey, with Reverand John Anderson officiating.
