Ronald E. Ruemmler died on October 26, 2025 at Pines Village Skilled Nursing in Whiting, NJ while under hospice care.
He grew up in Roselle, NJ and attended Abraham Clark High School. While there his Math Team won the State Mathematics Contest. He got his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Rutgers. He went on to become a math professor at both the Middlesex County College and Rutgers.
While Ron was in college, he became a character actor in several plays including, "Aunty Mame," "Blithe Spirit," and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." He was also "Johnny Appleseed" for many years at Lacey Township's Applefest.
"A Mathematical Analysis of Romantic Love," is a lecture he wrote and presented at many colleges in New Jersey and one in Montreal, Canada. Ron had an IQ of 160 and was a life member of Mensa.
In 2016, Ron moved from Colonia, NJ to Whiting, NJ where he became a resident at the Pines at Whiting and enjoyed many senior activities. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2017 but he was still active and enjoyed teaching the residents a game called "Cucumber" every Saturday and wowed them with his trivia knowledge.
Since he had a hip replacement first before he moved to Whiting, he needed to use a walker. By 2020, Ron realized he could no longer live by himself and a live-in aide was hired. In June 2024, he moved to Long-Term Care at the Pines but by March 2025 the Parkinson's was making it difficult to swallow and eat. On May 18, 2025, Ron was put on hospice and was able to live out his days in comfort.
He is survived by his sisters, Sandra Mault and husband Bob, and Gail Titus and husband Anthony, niece Tara Trangone and husband Anthony, nephews Tony and Troy Titus, great niece Madison Zrunski along with best friends Max Fine and Aggie Azzolino.
A Viewing will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Rt. 9, Forked River, NJ 08731. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in memory of Ron would be appreciated to Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 4777, New York, New York 10163-4777.
