Robert B. "Bobby" Hirth passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at the age of 78.
Bobby was predeceased by his parents, June and Robert Hirth of Forked River and his brother, Brian Hirth of Kenilworth. He is survived by his loving sister June and her husband Al Stork; his nephews Albert and his wife, Julia; Jordan and his wife, Kristi; Brian; and Jason Hirth and his fiancée, Alisha. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Diane Hirth, and his cherished great-nieces and nephew Dakota, Adelaide, Charlee, and Baylah.
A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, Bobby stood strong in his beliefs and his love for his country. He gave selflessly to many U.S. veteran causes, including helping to establish a Memorial Veterans Park in his hometown of Little Egg Harbor. As well as many donations to the Wounded Warrior Project. Deeply devoted to his community, Bobby also served on the Little Egg Harbor Citizens on Patrol, a role he greatly enjoyed.
After returning home from the war, Bobby worked as an IBEW electrician with Local 675, now Local 102 becoming a shop steward for 36 years before retiring in 2006.
Bobby's greatest joys in life were his family, his beloved dogs Lola and Sandy, his trusted friends, and his many hobbies; boating, fishing, traveling, road trips, and collecting Hess truck memorabilia. Though he carried a tough exterior, those who knew him well saw the deeply loving and caring man beneath.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Viewing will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 11am until time of service at 2pm at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Route 9, Forked River. Interment will follow at Good Luck Cemetery, Haines Street, Lanoka Harbor.
