Leon “Lee” Robert Beede
Mantachie – Leon “Lee” Robert Beede passed away at the age of 64 on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at his home. He was born to Leon Beede and Dola Mims Beede on June 13, 1961. He was a devoted father and grandfather, and loved his family dearly.
It is with deep love and gratitude that we remember a man who lived not for himself, but for others. A devoted family man, a skilled mechanic, a provider, and a steady presence in the lives of so many, he leaves behind a legacy measured not in possessions, but in people.
Leon “Lee” Robert Beede was a man of strength, loyalty, and quiet devotion. He loved riding and working on motorcycles — finding peace with grease on his hands and the open road ahead. Hardworking and resilient, he survived off the land when he had to and never shied away from a long day’s work.
Family was everything to him. He loved deeply and without condition — and once he loved you, he never stopped. He was always there: steady, dependable, and selfless in every way that mattered.
He helped raise at least eighteen children, along with many from the neighborhood, guiding them with patience, discipline, and love. His legacy isn’t just in what he built or fixed, but in the lives he shaped.
He will be remembered for his unwavering love, his tireless work ethic, and the countless hearts he helped carry through life.
He is survived by his children, Tammy Johnson (Doug), Tina Beede, Leon Beede, Jr. (Kim), Brittany Bare (Cherokee Bare), Danielle Land, Anthony Holiday, Joseph Welceh, Jr., Briana Beede (Joel West), Destiny Beede (Michael Walston), Christopher Cavey (Holly), Kyle Cavey, and Joshua Cavey, Jr.; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Daniel Beede (Peggy); and a host of other family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
