Leon Bullock Jr aka "Slash" entered this world in
Brooklyn, NY on the 14th day of July 1962, the first-born son of Leon Bullock Sr and Josephine Wilson.
Leon proudly served as a soldier in the United States Army upon graduating from the NYCPS system. Leon entered active-duty service as an MP (Military Police) and was stationed at several posts to include his first duty station in South Korea. This triggered his lifelong passion for traveling and exploring the world. After being discharged from the US Army, Leon worked at the NY Transit Authority as a construction engineer. Through his journey of 63 years, he touched many lives with his wisdom, humor and an unwavering spirit of perseverance. Leon was a true outdoorsman, he loved being in nature, a master of self-sufficiency. He had a deep respect for the "old ways" spending much time mastering skills of survival, preservation and land stewardship. He was a walking encyclopedia, ensuring you were well equipped with the tools and information needed for practically any life mission.
A man of great foresight, he was dedicated to the security and wellbeing of those he loved. He took great pride in his self-reliance and unwavering attention to detail. Leon's adventurous spirit and quiet strength carried him to Ghana, Kenya, Egypt, Vietnam, Domincan.Republic, South America and all over the U.S. Leon was a lover of rock music, Kung-Fu movies and animals, especially wolves.
Leon met the love of his life, Simone Fungaling. They had two beautiful children, Brandon and Miyoung Fungaling, who all reside in
Charlotte, NC.
Leon's strong entrepreneurial spirit led him to create stock-driven businesses and classes to inform and teach others how to flourish and grow into leaders themselves, established 3 successful small businesses, beginning with "Stock Trader for Life." While Leon built many things, he was most proud of the family he built.
From his early days as a fashion model to a real estate investor, he approached every deal with a firm handshake and belief that "a rising tide lifts all boats". Outside of work he could be found enjoying nature. He loved being in the forests, by the beach and in the snow.
He is survived by his three siblings, his elder sister Gene Renee Bullock, and two younger siblings, Serbrina Bullock and Luqman (Louis) Speight-Bullock. He is predeceased by his sisters Cassandra Williams, Ronnie Williams and brothers, Donnie Williams, and David Bullock. Leon is also survived by a host of close relatives including Troy (Luqman), Tyrone, Harry, Richard, Marie Wilder, William, Kevin, Drea, 7 nieces, 2 great nieces, 3 nephews, and 2 great nephews. He was surrounded by too much love to list.
