It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Leon Gordon Coble Jr., who departed this life peacefully on Easter Monday, April, 21, 2025, at the age of 82.
Leon was born on October 1, 1942, to Leon Gordon Coble Sr and Olene Matthews Coble in
Greensboro, NC, where he also resided and raised his family. Leon met his wife Linda, of 57 years, in the spring of 1965 and went on to marry her on December 30, 1967. Together they had 5 children; Stacey, Ashley, Michelle, Lee and Shane.
Leon was very active, not only from his business ventures, such as founding his own construction company, LASS INC, but he also enjoyed running, weightlifting, yard work, attending his kids games and church. He lived a full life which included enjoying Monarchs games with his family, watching NASCAR and his own passion for cars. He was not only a great provider but a generous one as well, with his family, but also with his employees, as well as his church, as he was a God fearing man who loved The Lord. Leon's presence was felt whenever he entered a room. His love of practical jokes is remembered by many as well as his love and protection of his family and tireless lifestyle.
Though he will forever be deeply missed and loved by those of us left behind, we know he is high in the sky with our loved ones watching over us as he leaves behind his wife, Linda Coble, children; Scott, Stacey, Ashley, Lee and Shane; grandchildren, Leah, Kayli, Jesse, Rowan, Jameson, Evan, Kaleb, Olivia, Harrison, Samantha, Alexandria, Morgan and Ryan; Great Grandchildren, Isabella, Levi and James. Sister, Christine Hancock nephews Mike and Jeff.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Olene, and his daughter Michelle.
Dad's generosity and love for us will forever live on in our hearts. Till we meet again, we love you and miss you to the depths of our being.
Forever loved, never forgotten.
A graveside service will be held at Westminster Gardens Cemetery on Friday, May 9th at 11:00 am.
