Leon B Dockey

ELIZABETHVILLE-Leon B. Dockey, 89, died June 28, 2023, at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.
Leon was born on October 24, 1933 in Gratz, PA, the son of the late Eston L. and Myrtle P. (Matter) Dockey.
Leon enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country from 1952-1956. He was an avid hunter, a simple man who treasured his friend's company over a cold beer. His passion was baseball and he loved the NY Yankees.
He was a retired USPS worker, he also was a former commander and adjutant of American Legion Post 404, he was also a life member of the Reliance Hose Company #1 of Elizabethville.
Surviving are his son Edward E. Dockey (Jacqueline) of Wixams, Bedfordshire, England, daughter Noel J. Stahl (Tom) of East Pennsboro, step children, Sandy Evans-Gallagher (James) of Harrisburg, Scott Evans (Debbie) of Hampden Township and Cathy Spangler (Randy) of Duncansville, grandson Colin Fincher.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Linwood and Richard.
There will be a visitation held a Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., Elizabethville on the 6th of July at 10:00-10:30 and a service starting at 10:30 hours. Burial with follow the service with military honors at Maple Grove Cemetery at 11:15 hours.
