Leon Fayette Obituary
A devoted father, grandfather, and friend, Lee is survived by his five children, Andrea Troy, James Fayette, William (Billy) Fayette (wife Megan), Christy Howley (husband Lee), Nicole Fayette and his three grandchildren (Ashley, Finn and Felix).
Lee was born on November 19, 1941, and raised in the Chicago suburbs. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, he returned to the Chicago area to work with his father, Lee Fayette (Bud) in the beverage industry. He eventually took over the business and went on to start and lead several successful business ventures. His never-ending energy kept him active until early 2025.
Over the years, he was a coach and avid supporter of his children's sporting pursuits – and his excitement was easy to hear. He was passionate about golf, racquet sports and a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears, Cubs, Bulls and Blackhawks. He enjoyed gardening, appreciated time in nature and enjoyed visiting the the Brookfield Zoo. He had a fondness for stopping at farmstands and ice cream stops on weekly drives to the family's home in Lake Geneva WI.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A celebration of life will be held at a future date at Christ Church at 501 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Morton Arboretum as a reflection of his lifelong appreciation for nature.
