LEON SCOTT, JR., 55, beloved husband of Tracy Jackson Scott, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 28, 2025 following a sudden illness.
Born in Gadsden, South Carolina, Leon was the son of Martha Garrick Scott and Leon Scott, Sr. After graduating from South Carolina State University, he began his career at the Savannah River Site. He dedicated many years to SRS before retiring in November 2024 and then continued his profession as a design engineer with Flour Corporation at SRS.
Leon was an active member of the board of the South Carolina State Alumni Association and served as a minister at Guiding Light Ministries, reflecting his passion for both education and spirituality.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tracy; his parents; four children: Brandon Jenkins, Cameron Jackson, Christopher Scott, and Caylee Scott; his sister, Lillian McBride (Angelo); two brothers, Marvin Scott (Janine) and Dewayne Scott (Stephanie); as well as his mother-in-law, Pastor Olla Jackson; brothers-in-law, Jerry Jackson Jr. and Shawn Jackson (Jennifer); sister-in-law, Ingrid Jackson; honorary brother and friend, Lawrence Jones and godsons, Caden Caldwell and Chance Anderson.
Leon was preceded in death by his sister, Camille Garrick, and his father-in-law, Jerry Jackson Sr.
The family will welcome friends on Sunday afternoon, November 2nd, from 2 to 4 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon, November 3rd, at 2 o’clock at the funeral home, followed by interment at Southlawn Cemetery.
