Leona Faye Brisbane

Leona Faye Brisbane, 91, of Homeland, GA passed away Wednesday, December 03, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 10, 1934, in Homeland, GA to the late Julian Crews and Laura Lloyd Crews. She was a graduate of Charlton County High School, where she was a member of the Basketball team. After high school she went on to graduate from St. Luke’s School of Nursing where she obtained a degree as a Registered Nurse, which she was very passionate about until her retirement from Methodist Medical Center. She was a member of Grace Chapel Baptist Church where she played the organ, taught Sunday School, taught the ladies class, and was also a big supporter of missions. She also attended Fellowship Bible Baptist Church and San Mateo Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing the organ. Mrs. Leona loved making flower arrangements, working in her garden, was an excellent seamstress and her favorite season was fall.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leona is pre-deceased by a brother: Laverne Crews; a sister: Orrizell Spence; two brothers-in-law: Lott Turner and Gordon Spence.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years: Charles Hunter Brisbane of Homeland, GA; two daughters: Gail (Tommy) Faucette of Jacksonville, FL and Lori Avery of Callahan, FL; two grandchildren: April (Derrick) Conway of Jacksonville, FL and Brian Avery of Callahan, FL; two sisters: Leola Crews and Anita Turner both of Folkston, GA: numerous nieces, nephews and other family members also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 08, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home, (526 Oakwood Street, Folkston, GA 31537) with Pastor John Boatwright officiating. Burial will follow in the Homeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
