Leona Atkinson Carrigan, 96, of Beebe, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord August 10, 2025. She was born March 28, 1929, to Arthur Samuel Atkinson and Martha Emma Mitchell in Stony Point, Arkansas. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Beebe First Church of the Nazarene. She retired from AT&T in 1990.
Leona is preceded in death by her husbands, Lewis Carter, Sr., Daryl Koontz, and Conrad Carrigan; her daughter, Loreata Jean Howlett, and her grandsons Matthew Carter and Joey Kelly; her siblings, Floice Dixon, Mansel Atkinson, Corine Gray, Clarence Atkinson, Masel Brown, and Iona Bull.
She is survived by her sons, Andy Carter, Mike Carter, Lewis Carter, Jr.; her daughter, Lynne Graham; twelve grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Beebe First Church of the Nazarene, with burial in Edlin Cemetery, 355-399 Stony Point Rd.
