Leona Jane Johnson

Leona Jane Johnson, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 shortly after 3 p.m. She is now singing in the Heavenly Choir. She was preceded in death by her parents Luther and Marjorie Wyatt. Leona leaves behind her husband Barry, as well as a brother John (Dawn) Wyatt and sister Marjorie McCrae. She also leaves her children Timothy (Kristen) York, Tim (Fiancé Victoria) Johnson, Melissa (AJ) Plichta, and Rebecca Johnson; proud and adored grandma of Mia, Landon, Kaylee, Ronan, Alexander, Sean, Zander, Ian, and the late Angel; great-grandmother of two. Leona was also the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews, and a cherished friend to many. Her family was her world and loved all of them.

Leona loved the Lord with all her heart and the Church was an extension of her family, and spending time with family was everything to her. Beyond her family, her second Love and passion would surely have to be nursing. She loved caring for people. Any self-introduction began with "My name is Leona and I've been a nurse for over forty years."

In addition to her faith, church and nursing, Leona also loved singing in the choir, leading and teaching the Keenagers Group with Barry, missions, and Hallmark movies.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 – 11am at the North Auburn Hills Baptist Church, 3889 Squirrel Rd., Auburn Hills, MI. Dr. John Marine and Pastor Mike Brady officiating. A luncheon reception to take place at 1:30pm at the church for family and friends.

A private burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, MI.
