She is predeceased by her husband, Gerald Kavanagh; her parents; her daughter, Audrey; her son, Charles; her siblings, Theresa, Fred, Ronald, Raymond, David, and Danny Barton.
Leona was born on August 7, 1939, in Lyon Mountain, NY, the daughter of Thomas and Helen Vevia Godin. Leona worked at Sunmount DDSO until her retirement, she later worked for the recreation department at Mercy Living Center until she became a foster grandparent. She married Gerald Kavanagh in September 1984 at her home in Tupper Lake, he predeceased her on November 5, 2010.
She found great joy in the simple pleasures of knitting and bingo, and she cherished every moment spent traveling and cruising with her family. Among her many passions, she was perhaps most dedicated to her time at the adult center and her role as a foster grandparent at LPQ-a position she held incredibly dear to her heart.
