Len Cohen, known affectionately as PopPop to those who knew him, crossed the rainbow bridge after a brief illness on December 24, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was 92.
PopPop was born in the Bronx, NY and lived in Carteret for the past 62 years. He was a retired Data Processing Manager with Ammann and Whitney, a Korean War Veteran, diehard Yankees fan, world traveler; visiting all 50 states and countless countries spanning, 4 continents, a crossword puzzle enthusiast, and knowledgeable on current events by continuing to read two newspapers a day.
He was pre-deceased only one year ago, by the love of his life, his wife of more than 67 years, Norma (MomMom), his parents, two sisters, and numerous cats.
PopPop is survived by his son, Neal, daughter, Gloriane (Glenn) and his beloved granddaughters, Victoria and Mikhayla.
I am certain he misses us, but is no longer lonely for his true love. They can now spend eternity together.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 12 - 1pm at Chubenko, Funeral home, 625 Port Reading Ave., Port Reading, NJ, followed by interment at Cloverleaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Len's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Tabby's Place or ASPCA.
