Leonard “Lennie” Bernard Daunhauer Jr., age 85, passed away on December 20, 2025, in Clarksville, Indiana. Lennie was born on July 1, 1940, to Leonard B. Daunhauer Sr. and Bertha L. Williams in Louisville, Kentucky.
Lennie proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army from 1963 to 1965, a commitment he carried with honor throughout his life. After his time of service, Lennie went on to work at Mother’s Cookies for 30 years before retiring.
In his younger years, Lennie greatly enjoyed spending time at Fountain Fairy Park—an experience that left such a lasting impression that he continued to speak fondly of it well into his later years. He had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in activities such as shooting and fishing. When not outside, Lennie could often be found playing pool or listening to his favorite music, especially songs by Hank Williams.
Lennie was a longtime and proud member of the Single Action Shooting Society, the Knob Creek Gun Range, and Highland Park Christian Church. These communities were important to him and reflected his interests, values, and friendships.
Above all, Lennie cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Being surrounded by them brought him his greatest joy, and he treasured every moment shared with his family.
Lennie will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his appreciation for the outdoors, and the simple pleasures that brought him happiness throughout his life.
Lennie is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Bernard Daunhauer Sr. and Bertha Louise Davenport Williams.
Left to cherish his memory Lennie is survived by his children, Cole Daunhauer and Maria Anderson (Jason); grandchildren, Summer Ballenger, Matthew Daunhauer, Christian Embry, Jerrica Anderson, Giselle Daunhauer, and Colton Daunhauer; great-granddaughter, Delaney Autumn Bruno; Lindsay Daunhauer and Rose Daunhauer.
