Leonard Dunican

Leonard Dunican, 82, of East Haven, CT, passed peacefully on June 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Phillipston, MA, Leonard proudly served in the United States Navy, carrying with him a lifelong love of the ocean. A devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox, he could often be found watching a game, sharing stories, or striking up a conversation with anyone who crossed his path. He had a natural gift for making people feel welcome and seen. His faith was the foundation of his life. Leonard was a dedicated member of his church community, where he taught Sunday School and offered quiet guidance and encouragement to generations of families. His warmth, wisdom, and steady presence touched the lives of all who knew him. Leonard was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Joan Carol Dunican; his brothers Donald, Richard, and David; and his sister Kathleen. He is survived by his children Matthew, Patrick, and Joan; his sister Arline; and his cherished grandchildren. Though he may be gone, his spirit lives on in the lessons he taught, the kindness he gave, and the words he left behind: "Keep smiling."
