Len Robert Furnas born in Glendale California on November 30th,1942 passed on Wednesday, March 26th, 2025. He was surrounded by his wife and their extended family. Len was 82. Len was preceded by parents Harold and Erma Furnas and brother-in-law Ron Guillen.
Len is survived by wife of 27 years Marcia Guillen-Furnas, her children son Gene Gutierrez (Annette) , Michelle Sotelo (Bennie) , Grandchild Adrian Gutierrez (Heather), Granddaughter Merissa Sotelo (Charles), Grandson Daniel Sotelo (Hannah), Twin Granddaughters Alexis Sotelo (Miguel) and Breana Sotelo who were especially close and loved-adored their “Pompo”. Great Grandchildren Elizabeth and Jude Gutierrez, Joseph and Jackson. Marcia’s brothers and sister.
Daughter Michele Furnas, Son Allen Furnas (Yulia), Pamela Speers (Andrew), Grandchildren Serena Vasquez, Katie Troy (Matthew), Natalie Furnas (Eric), Austin Furnas, Versia Furnas, Jessica, Alec, and Maggie Speers. Len’s sister Marilyn Palla-Drove (Dan). Nephews Stephen, Michael, and Geoffrey Palla. Great Grandchildren Kalesta Vazquez, Simon Simonson III, Twins Kate and Kaylee Vazquez, Emilia Troy, Sylvain Morel and they all loved their “Grandpa D”.
Len was an avid sports fan especially his love of Golf and his dedication to the San Francisco 49’ers, he liked his daily Starbuck’s Chi-tea latte with coconut milk and reading his next book on his Kindle. Len enjoyed his weekday outings at his favorite “The Bagel Shop” in Rio Rancho on Southern, visiting with the owners and trading stories with some of the other regulars.
Len retired from Graybar Electrical Inc. in Albuquerque on April 1st, 1998 after 28 years of service as a Senior Quotation Specialist where he first met the Guillen family through his co-worker sister -in-law Amy Guillen. He made many friends at Graybay and best friend Richard Tafoya (Danette).
Marcia and Len met in 1997 on a blind date at Post 99. They danced for the first time to Patsy Cline’s song “Crazy” and that
became their song. And soon after at her brother Vince’s wedding September 1997, Marcia caught the wedding bouquet and she and Len married a few months later (So maybe there is something to that custom ??).
His ashes will travel To California where they will be scattered by his daughter, Michele per his wishes.
We love you and you will be dearly missed forever in our hearts.
