Leonard Stanhope Kauffman, Jr., 80-year-old Langley resident, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, at home surrounded by family. He was born on September 10, 1944, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Leonard and Vesta (Hahn) Kauffman, Sr. After graduation from high school, Leonard enlisted in the United States Navy where he served as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic during the Vietnam War.
A successful business man, Leonard bought and sold several businesses over his lifetime. His “crown jewel” came when he started Precision Manufacturing and Design, building it from the ground up. At Precision, he oversaw the operations of CNC machining, laser cutting, CAD/CAM design, prototyping, welding, fabrication and more. Through his operation of Precision Manufacturing and Design, Leonard became known for setting the standard for excellence in manufacturing. Leonard took pride in making a significant contribution to the Langley and Grand Lake Community.
In his spare time, Leonard was an avid outdoorsman participating in deer hunting, fishing, noodling, and scuba diving. He will be remembered as a generous and caring man; always willing to help others.
Leonard is survived by his wife Sue Ann Kauffman; children, David Kauffman and wife, Lisa, Stacie Kauffman, and Lenny McCall and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Korey Kauffman and wife, Kaylee, Chandler Kauffman and wife, Brianna, Zoey Evans, D.J. Berry, Brittany Hamblin and husband, Aaron, Hunter Denmark, Joey McCall and wife, Heather, Megan Howell and husband, Jeff, Emma McGlasson, Maddi McGlasson; thirteen great grandchildren; and sister, Myrna Kauffman Eisele.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Kauffman, Sr. and Vesta Smith, and brother, Jimmy Lindley.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 17, 2025, in the Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery, Spavinaw, Oklahoma with Pastors Gina and Chuck Jackson officiating. Patriotic music will be offered by trumpeter Mike Bennett. Korey Kauffman, Chandler Kauffman, D.J. Berry, Hunter Denmark, Joey McCall, and Jeff Howell will serve as casket bearers. The US Navy Funeral Honors Detail will perform Military Honors.
