Leonard L. Lilley, Jr. age 77, a well-loved long-time Lynnfield resident, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on October 8, 2025.
He was born in Winchester on July 8, 1948 and was the son of the late Leonard and Thelma (Hanright) Lilley.
Lenny was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having proudly served from 1967 to 1973, four active years and two reserve years, during the Vietnam Era. He served aboard the USS White Plains. He had worked for the Town of Lynnfield Department of Public Works for 33 years and retired from the role of Assistant Director. He was also the proud owner of Len Lilley Irrigation which he operated in his retirement. Lenny was a member of the Wakefield Lodge of Elks for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting and was a longtime fan of the Washington Redskins and also the New England Patriots.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol (Hebb) Lilley; his son, Leonard Lilley III and his wife Suzanne; his daughter, Kimberley Lilley Leggett and her husband Dave, and his son, Shannon Lilley and his wife Nathalie; his seven grandchildren, Nickole, Devin and Timothy Leggett, and Cameron, Kyle, Kacie, Mathew Lilley. He is also survived by his sisters Karen Rodham and Janice Luscomb as well as many other family members and friends.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday, October 14 from 3-7pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield on Wednesday, October 15 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
