Leonard Thomas Maynard, Jr., 100, of Warwick, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025. He was the loving husband of the late Hope Eleanor (Hohler) Maynard. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Leonard T. Maynard, Sr. and Bertha (Kellett) Maynard.
Leonard graduated from LaSalle Academy in Providence and received his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Rhode Island. He honorably served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II in both the Pacific and Asian Theatres. Leonard went on to serve the City of Warwick as the Superintendent and Executive Director of the Warwick Sewer Authority. He also served as a City Engineer. Leonard was a founding member of St. Clement Church in Warwick and a Past Officer of the Warwick Rotary Club.
He is survived by his beloved children, Judith Ann Berube of Mashpee, MA and Mark L. Maynard of Warwick, and his grandson, Connor Berube.
His Funeral will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 8:30AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at Sts. Rose & Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Johnston.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
