Leonard Mogan Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Leonard Joseph Mogan, 73, of Port Huron, passed away peacefully at McLaren Port Huron Hospital on August 27, 2025. He was born on August 8, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan.

Leonard's journey began as the beloved son of Lawrence Mogan and Kathleen Gabrielson. He grew up in a lively household with his siblings, Kathy, Debbie, Mike, Linda, Loraine, and John.

On July 29, 1972, Leonard married the love of his life, Raydene, and together they built a life filled with joy and cherished moments. Their union was blessed with three daughters, Misty, Mandy, and Mindy, who filled their home with laughter and love. Leonard's role as a father was one he treasured deeply, and he instilled in his children the values of kindness, humor, and thoughtfulness.

Leonard's legacy continued to grow with the addition of his grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy, Scott Jr., Averie, Brianna, and Erich, and great-grandchildren, Ella, Mckenzie, and Deluka. He relished the time spent with them, whether it was hiking through the Michigan wilderness, working on cars in the garage, or cheering on his favorite football team, the Detroit Lions. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever remember their grandpa's funny stories.

Throughout his life, Leonard was a dedicated worker, spending over 30 years as a screw machine operator at Huron Inc.

Leonard is survived by his devoted wife, Raydene; his loving children, Misty (Scott Sr.) Johnson, Mandy Mogan, and Mindy Mogan; his adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters, Kathy and Debbie Mogan; his brother-in-law, Ronald (Tina) Radatz; his sister-in-law, Charlene Bills; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mildred Mogan, and Kathleen Gabrielson; his brothers, Mike Mogan and John Mogan; and his sisters, Linda and Loraine Mogan.

He will be remembered as a man who could light up a room with his humor, be the life of the party, and who always put his family first. His memory will live on in the stories told at family gatherings, the laughter shared among friends, and in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we say goodbye to Leonard Joseph Mogan, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that will be cherished for generations to come. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Leonard, until we meet again.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial - Smith Chapel, 1525 Hancock Street, Port Huron, Michigan 48060, with visiting starting at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow after the service in the funeral home.
