Charles Dickson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial - Smith Chapel - Port Huron on Jan. 14, 2026.
Charles Harvey "Chuck" Dickson, a man of exceptional character, passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 90, in Port Huron, Michigan. Chuck's life was a testament to the values of kindness, thoughtfulness, and selflessness that he embodied.
Chuck married the love of his life, Marva Dawn Dickson, on August 24, 1957, in Portage, Michigan. They were blessed with two sons, Andrew (Barbara) and James (April). He is survived by 6 grandchildren, Ian (Charlotte), Brett (Chelsey), Alec, Caleb, MacKenzie, and Eryk.
A man of intellect and discipline, Chuck pursued higher education, earning a Master's Degree that would serve as the foundation for his diverse professional life. He dedicated 30 years to the United States Navy, where he served with distinction as a Naval Aviator and retired as a Commander. His commitment to service and country was unwavering, and his leadership and mentorship left a lasting impact on those who served alongside him.
Chuck continued to serve his community as a High School Counselor at L'Anse Creuse Schools and as a former teacher. His guidance shaped the lives of countless young individuals, helping them navigate the complexities of adolescence and the transition to adulthood.
As an avid member, supporter, and tuba player for the Blue Water New Horizons Band. Chuck's passion for music was undeniable. His musical talents extended to playing the guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, and accordion.
Chuck's love for camping, traveling, flying, and sailing was infectious, and he often shared these experiences with his family and friends. His adventurous spirit inspired others to explore and appreciate the world's vast beauty.
As we bid farewell to Charles Harvey "Chuck" Dickson, we celebrate a life well-lived and a soul that has truly made a difference. He will be remembered by his family, friends, and all who were honored to cross paths with this remarkable man.
Arrangements were entrusted to Grace Memorial.
