Leonard Earl Odom, affectionately know as “Pop” went to be with his Lord Friday, August 25, 2023, in Jackson, MS. The family will receive friends Monday, August 28, 2023, beginning at 5:00 PM until 9:00 pm at Brandon United Pentecostal Church and again Tuesday Morning August 29, 2023, at the church followed by an 11: 00 am Funeral service all at Brandon United Pentecostal Church. Rev. Bobby Kuhn, Rev Lloyd Adcock and Rev. Ken Irby are officiating his service. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. Those honored to serve as him pallbearers, Shane West, Jason Odom, Darryl Odom, Ronnie Odom John Vaughn and Aaron West, Serving as Honorary pallbearer is James “Jimbo” Odom.
Pop was born September 21, 1935, to Marshall and Wardean Odom in Kosciusko, MS where he spent his early life. He later moved to Rankin County where he lived in Pearl for several years and in Florence the past 34 years. Leonard was a member of Brandon United Pentecostal Church. He was the owner and Operator of many businesses in his career including, Monterey Grocery, Leonard’s Construction, Pop’s Auto Sales and early in his career he was an accomplished welder. When he was not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family, Dirt Track racing and traveling.
Those preceding him in death include his parents, Marshall and Wardean Odom; daughter, Cheryl Coffman; siblings, James Odom, Kathleen Lacey, Betty Self, Laverne Ware and Billy Frank Odom. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Christine Odom of Florence; daughters, Clara Richardson and husband Marty of Florence, Rita Bowers and husband Gary of Florence; son, Danny Odom and wife Tina of Florence; 8 grandchildren, Carrie Odom, Shane West, Stephanie Arrington, Tony Coffman, Nikki Bowers, Jason Odom, Brittany Whatley, Shaunda Hayes; 16 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sister Patty Bingham of Lakeland, FL; brother Glen Odom and wife Francis of Mendenhall and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
