Mr. Leonard Greyling Royal, 66, of Ellaville, GA, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on January 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home in Ellaville, with Bro. Stephen Fripp officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Dariel Streetman, Shayne Allegood, Russell Tyler, Michael Wurtz, Ellis Larkin, Bill Jackson and Wayne Harrell. The family will greet friends following the service.
Mr. Royal was born October 6, 1957 in Americus, GA to George Lynward and Lettie Lee Royal. He was a 1975 graduate of Schley County High School. Mr. Royal worked with Procter & Gamble in many capacities for almost 25 years. He loved to hunt, fish and cut grass but mostly he enjoyed spending time at “The Barn” with his friends and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, George Lynward Royal.
Survivors include his mother, Lettie Lee Royal of Ellaville; his children, LeAndra Lumpkin and her husband, R.T., Zachary Royal and his wife, Rebecca and Jeremy Royal, all of Ellaville; four grandchildren, Robert Trypp Lumpkin, Kylee Terese Lumpkin, Elijah Lynard Royal and Emilia Lee Royal; two sisters, Delita West-Willis and her husband, Al of Vienna, GA and Lisa Allen Lovell and her husband, Dave of Cullman, AL; the mother of his children, Shanon Royal; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to recognize Mrs. Gail Allegood and the staff at Perfect Care for the excellent care given to Mr. Royal and his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made Perfect Care, Inc. 114 Sullivan Dr., Americus, GA 31709.
