Leonard Rutka Obituary
Leonard S. Rutka, 80 of Cicero died on Oct. 10, 2023.
Born on June 2, 1943 in Chicago, IL. Lenny was a police officer for the Town of Cicero for 25 years. He was also the Chief of Police for Morton College as well as a Criminal Justice Instructor.
Lenny has numerous Certificates of Achievements from his law enforcement career. He has many stories to share about his career and many travel adventures. Lenny was a Blue Knight member for decades and loved working with the Chicagoland Toys for Tots every year at Christmas time. He enjoyed his camp outs and weekly motorcycle rides with Cody and all his buddies from the Blue Knights.
Lenny was the husband to Ruth (nee Bolec) and father to Christopher. Grandpa to Cody, Nick, Whitney and Wyatt. Stepfather to Christina Graf and Butch. Brother to Gerri, Loretta and Kenny. Uncle to Shirley, Stanley, Wayne, Richie, Philip and Kenny. Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews as well as a cousin to many.
Visitation for Leonard will be on Monday, October 16, 2023, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. For more information call The Sourek Funeral Home at 708-652-6661.
