Leone D. Burger, 101, of Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Meadowbrook at Bloomer Nursing Home under the care of Moments Hospice.
Leone was born October 5, 1923 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Jerd and Maud (Rogers) Dresel.
She grew up in the town of Anson and attended grade school at Thomas District #1. She attended Chippewa Falls High School and graduated in 1942. She was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital, Mason Shoe Company and W. S. Darley Company.
On June 15, 1946, Leone married Donald Burger in Chippewa Falls. She was a member of St. Charles Church.
Leone is survived by one son, Greg Burger of Chippewa Falls; 7 grandchildren, Mike (Carol) Burger, Chad (Lindsey) Burger, Nicholas (Christina) Burger, Charles (Keary) Burger, Bryan, Drew and Kayla (Tyler) Kramer; and 5 great grandchildren, Logan, Cassie, Jameson, Alexa and Isla.
Leone was preceded in death by her husband, Don on June 13, 1994; one son, Gary Burger; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Burger; her parents; two brothers, John and George Dresel; and two sisters, Myrtle Anderson and Barbara DuMars.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 25 at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Alex Kren of St. Charles Church will be officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 25 at the funeral home.
