Leonora "Lee" Sukhenko, (née Lusczcynski), 73, of Rochester, New York, passed away on August 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born on September 23, 1951, in São Paulo, Brazil, Lee was the cherished daughter of Maria and Mieczyslaw Lusczcynski. Her family immigrated to the United States in the 1950s, first arriving in Ohio before making their permanent home in Rochester, on Saint Stanislaus Street.

Lee attended Bishop Kearney High School and met the love of her life, Waldemar "Walter" Sukhenko, through mutual friends. They married in 1970 and started their family in Greece, New York. Together, they raised three children: Adam, Natalie, and Michael. An outgoing and vibrant woman, Lee had a magnificent sense of style and was always dressed to the nines. Her love for fashion extended to her home, where she delighted in decorating and experimenting with new design trends.

Lee embraced life with a joyful spirit and a passion for travel through numerous tropical vacations. She was an amazing cook, an avid music lover and she enjoyed anything that was "danceable". Lee also enjoyed working in her garden, planting a variety of flowers, and spending time with a beloved cat always by her side. Her greatest love was the love for her husband, children and most of all, her grandchildren.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Walter; her son, Adam (Robin); her daughter, Natalie (Jim); her son, Michael (Sarah); and her six grandchildren, Jimmy, Jacob, Evan, Patrick, Nick, and Riker, who will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are welcome Monday, August 25th from 4-7pm (Panakhyda 6:30pm) at the Michael R. Yackiw Funeral Home 1650 Empire Blvd. Lee's Funeral Liturgy will be Tuesday, August 26th 10am at St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
