Leroy M. Bettincourt

Leroy Bettincourt passed away on December 5, 2025, in Salida, California, at the age of 85. Born on March 29, 1940, in Merced, California, Leroy lived a life marked by dedication to his family and his work.

Leroy was well respected in the livestock industry, spending his career as a butcher, owner of a livestock business, and a cattle buyer, where he continued to work up until his passing. Outside of his professional life, Leroy was an avid outdoorsman. He cherished his time fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and visiting casinos.

On May 7, 1961, Leroy married his beloved wife, Norma Bettincourt, in Turlock, California, marking the beginning of a devoted partnership that lasted until Norma's passing. Together, they raised a family that grew to include 3 sons, 1 daughter, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Leroy's family was his pride and joy, and he is survived by his two sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his sister. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; daughter, Christine; and son, Tim.

A visitation will be held on December 15, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place the following day, December 16, at 10:00 a.m. at Turlock Funeral Home. Following the service, Leroy will be laid to rest beside his wife at Turlock Memorial Park.
